On World Book Day, EYFS to Year 2 were delighted to welcome our storytellers this afternoon! Here is Seahorse Class enjoying their love of reading! 📚💚

How lucky are we? 📚📚📚 A huge thank you to Mr Bradbury, one of our parent governors, who has donated 21 books, one per class, through his work at Services Design Solution. The books are focused on the themes of engineering, science, engineering and maths! Thank you so much! Happy World Book Day 📚📚📚

Session 2 for our EYFS forest school learning. The children had a lovely time in their costumes and pyjamas in the forest today! Mrs Dawes and Mrs Maiden hid 30 cones all painted with different colours for the children to find in the woods! Everybody worked in their pairs and there were some lovely acts of kindness shown by the children who all helped each other! Well done! We are looking forward to next week's leaf rubbing session! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Year 4 are incredibly proud to share some exciting news with you! Year 4’s wonderful Roman writing is now beautifully displayed at Crownhill Library, where members of the public can enjoy and appreciate the children’s hard work. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to feel a real sense of pride in their work and we hope you take a moment to visit the library and see the work for yourselves! Well done Year 4! EYFS have enjoyed their first of six Forest School sessions in our lovely woodland area! Thank you Mrs Maiden and Mrs Dawes for leading this! The children had a fabulous morning in the sunshine! 🌞⭐️🌲We focussed on following instructions and their gross motor skills by encouraging them to balance on the logs! Our resident robin was also there but nobody spotted it…keep your eyes peeled next week children! We finished off by plying the LAVA game - we had plastic sheets in the house colours and when lava is shouted the children had to quickly reach the correct coloured sheets for safety! 🌋🌋🌋🌋Great fun!

EYFS-Year 3 have had the pleasure of a visit today from author, Clare Helen Walsh and illustrator, Fiona Lumbers. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you for organising this Miss Williams!

Four of our Service children were selected to help Plymouth University student Jade McCourt with her dissertation around how transition can affect military families. They each have a teddy and a teddy diary to complete about their journeys to and from school and their day at school. They must include everybody who helped them on that day and the best thing is......... They get to keep the teddies! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

WELLNESS event at Plymouth Life Centre for families on Saturday 8th February! 💙 Families in Plymouth are invited to a free wellness event, which includes fun activities for children and the opportunity for parents and carers to learn more about the local support that’s available to them. Taking place at Plymouth Life Centre on Saturday 8 February from 10.30am to 2.30pm, the event is organised by Plymouth City Council and NHS Devon with support from Plymouth Active Leisure and Plymouth Parent Carer Voice. More than 50 organisations will be on hand to give advice and showcase their services, offering support on a huge range of issues including mental health, physical wellbeing, healthy eating, parenting, finances and the cost of living. There’s a packed line-up of activities taking place throughout the day too, with attendees able to join in with dance, yoga and dodgeball sessions. There will also be demonstrations of wrestling and boxing. The creche will be open for parents and carers to stay and play with toddlers, and there will also be a bouncy castle and inflatables for children to enjoy. Councillor Jemima Laing, Deputy Leader of Plymouth City Council, said: “This is a really unique and exciting opportunity for families in Plymouth to discover the huge range of support that’s available across the city. Whether you’re worried about something in particular or would just like to learn more about local organisations that can help you, come along and get involved.” Su Smart, Director of women and children’s improvement at NHS Devon, said: “We are keen to connect families to local support and services in Plymouth and this is a great opportunity to find out what is available. Improving the wellbeing of children and young people in our local community is extremely important to us and this is a good opportunity to connect with local people, networks and organisations.” The event is open to all families in Plymouth. Half Term fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow! Young Voices Choir 2025! What an incredible, memorable, musical experience for our Year 5/6 children who have been practising these songs, signing and dance moves since September with Mrs Irvine and Mrs Llewellyn! The final event - a 5200+ pupil choir - took place yesterday in Birmingham at the World Resorts Arena! The children were a pleasure to be with- they sung and danced their little hearts outs and were great company on the two minibuses! ⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you for the support from several parents who also travelled the distance to watch the spectacular event! 🎶🎵🎤💚Superstars! The children in EYFS have been encouraged to bake some gingerbread people at home to continue their learning about the traditional tale 'The Gingerbread Man'. Hopefully none of them jumped out of the oven and ran away! What a yummy home learning activity! 😋 🫚 🍪
